You have to create dominance from the start. The guard is a vital element in any skirmish, and controlling him can turn the tide of the whole conflict. Don't let him lead the pace. Instead, you need to be the one driving the rhythm. Use your greater techniques to disrupt his flow, and once he's broken, it's time to capitalize. Practice your defe
